Attempted Sex Assault Suspect Sketch
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is looking for a man they said tried to sexually assault a woman at gunpoint.
According to a news release from Public Information Officer Melissa Bujeda, the incident happened while the victim was walking in the 2900 block of Pearl St. at about 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18.
The victim told police that a man approached her in a light-colored 2000 Ford Focus. She says he took her to an abandoned residence where he tried to sexually assault her while pointing a gun at her.
The victim managed to escape and police said the suspect hit a pole as he tried to get away. The impact knocked off the driver's side mirror on the Focus.
Police described the suspect as a black male between the ages of 25 and 30, and have released a composite sketch of the man.
