CENTENNIAL, AZ (KUSA) - Denver Broncos executives took flight Friday to go watch Peyton Manning workout for them.
The Denver Broncos are attempting to acquire former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning. According to sources, Manning is debating between the Broncos and the Tennessee Titans.
Sports sources have confirmed Manning will workout for the Broncos at Duke University on Friday. Present at the workout will be Pat Bowlen - owner of the Broncos, John Elway - executive VP of football operations, John Fox - Broncos' head coach, Brian Xanders - Broncos' general manager, Mike McCoy - Broncos' offensive coordinator, Adam Gase - Broncos' quarterbacks coach and the team doctors.
The flight departed just before 8:30 a.m. from Centennial Airport and arrived in Raleigh around 1:15 p.m. (EDT)
The Arizona Cardinals - who were in the Manning race early on also - have until 2 p.m. MDT to try and offer Manning a signing bonus. However, sources are telling 9NEWS the workout in Raleigh will take up Manning's time past that particular time slot.
People familiar with the negotiations say the Miami Dolphins are out of the chase for Peyton Manning also. A person confirmed to The Associated Press that Manning phoned the Dolphins on Thursday and said he'll sign elsewhere.
If Manning were to be acquired by the Broncos, it could put Broncos Quarterback Tim Tebow in play, raising the possibility the Jaguars could acquire Tebow.
