JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Saturday afternoon fire damaged the Sandollar Restaurant on Heckscher Drive, closing the popular eating spot.

The fire began around 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon. The crew was changing out grease in the kitchen when it caught on fire according to the owner.

Firefighters put the fire out quickly , but before they did, heavy smoke and a few flames could be seen across the river according to witnesses who called First Coast News.
