BIG PINE KEY, Fla. -- Authorities say a Jacksonville man diving from a private boat off the Florida Keys was found dead.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office reports that 62-year-old Charles Newman had been on the 25-foot vessel with five other friends on Thursday.
Four members of the group, including Newman, went diving Thursday morning, and the others later told authorities they realized Newman was missing around 11:30 a.m.
They called the U.S. Coast Guard, and Newman's body was found a short time later in about 10-15 feet of water.
An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of his death.
