JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- Police will release new details and announce a reward in the case of a fatal shooting two years ago at a Waffle House.

On May 18, 2009, officers in Jacksonville Beach responded to the fatal shooting of Roderick Batts, who died in the parking lot outside the restaurant. Police said it did not appear to be a robbery, but didn't release much more than that.

Police said the case has gone cold and they need the public's help.

They will announce a reward later this morning for anyone who provides information leading to an arrest.

Jacksonville Beach Police Department Sgt. Thomas Bingham said at the time of the shooting the victim was inside the restaurant.  He walked out to the parking lot and that's when Bingham said someone shot him several times.

There were about 10 people in the Waffle House restaurant at the time of the shooting. Witnesses said they heard gunshots that sounded like they came from a pop gun, and took cover and got on the floor.

Bingham said witnesses told officers two suspects ran across the street and got into a dark colored 4-door Sedan, possibly a Buick, the headed west on Beach Boulevard.
