DENVER -- One of the victims of Friday's Theater Shooting Massacre
gave birth to a healthy baby boy Tuesday morning at University
Hospital.
Hugo Jackson Medley was born around 7:11 a.m. His father,
Caleb Medley, is still listed in critical condition. Doctors say it will
be years before he makes a full recovery.
"We know Caleb is a fighter. We know he won't stay out of that child's
life for too long," Caleb's youngest brother Seth Medley said.
Caleb Medley is an aspiring comedian. He had been working part time at a
local Target. Unfortunately, he didn't have insurance. His family says
medical bills will likely climb in to the millions.
Seth Medley says his brother is showing signs of improvement. Doctors
told Caleb's family Caleb's blood pressure rose when he first saw his
son.
"He moved his hand towards his baby trying to touch him, trying to feel him," Seth Medley said.
Katie Medley was not injured in the shooting, but many wondered how she
would handle the situation with her husband while being pregnant.
Seth Medley says his sister-in-law is stressed but understands the situation.
