ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- A crash involving two semi-trucks shut down southbound lanes of Interstate 95 for hours Monday evening.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred near State Road 207 just before 7:30 p.m. and involved two semi-trucks and a car. None of the drivers were injured, according to the crash report.

According to FHP, one truck slowed down to avoid a pre-existing crash and was rear-ended by a truck following behind it when it went to change lanes. The truck that was rear ended was ripped apart and spilled thousands of empty aluminium cans in the road. A third vehicle (Toyota Camry) also rear-ended one of the trucks.

All three southbound lanes were blocked and traffic was diverted to State Road 207, exit 311.

All three drivers involved were wearing seat belts, according to FHP. Charges are pending.
