JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A driver killed in a motorcycle crash early Saturday morning has been identified by police.
Donald Wayne Privette, 57, was heading north on South Old Kings Road just before 1 a.m. Saturday, when he failed to negotiated a curve in the road and struck a wooden utility pole, according to a release from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Privette was ejected in the crash and was not wearing a helmet, JSO detailed. Privette was pronounced deceased on scene by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue.
Privette was released from jail less than 24 hours before the crash occurred after serving a 25 day sentence for knowingly operating a vehicle while drivers license suspended/canceled/revoked.
The investigation is ongoing.
