JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- First Coast News was given a chance to take a first hand look at the more then $60 million in improvements to Everbank Field. Jaguars President Mark Lamping says those improvements will be a big driver in bringing more fans to the game, instead of keeping them at home.
"It's going to be a different experience for our fans, it's going to be an enhanced experience," said Lamping.
Two of the most talked about additions, the pools on the north end zone, and what will be among the two largest video boards in the world.
Construction officials tell FCN the pools will be ready July 10th. The video boards will be unveiled July 26th at the Carrie Underwood concert.
Other upgrades include field level seating, and additions to the State Farm Fan Cave.
Lamping says one of the biggest ways to draw more fans is to improve the product on the field. While he says steps are being made in that direction, he says the upgrades will also help draw in people from different markets.
"I hope the overall reaction is when people come in here and they see it, they'll be even more proud of the city they live in," he said.
