WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) - Florida State's Mike Martin became the third baseball coach in Division I history to reach 1,800 wins, earning the milestone with the Seminoles' 4-3 victory over Wake Forest in 13 innings Saturday night.

Martin, in his 35th year as Florida State's coach, joined Texas coach Augie Garrido and former Wichita State coach Gene Stephenson as the only men in Division I to reach the mark.

Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Jameis Winston (1-0) pitched a career-high 4 2-3 shutout innings for the win. The Seminoles closer allowed two hits and walked one while striking out two on 44 pitches.

Danny De La Calle's RBI single in the 13th scored John Sansone from second for the go-ahead run to give the Seminoles (30-8) their fourth straight series victory over the Demon Deacons (24-17).
