TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Trustees at Florida State are expected to name an interim president during their meeting this afternoon at the Turnbull Center.

Eric Barron, FSU's 14th president, surprised almost everyone at FSU when he was named Penn State University's next president on Feb. 17. Barron, an FSU grad, had been on the faculty at Penn State from 1986 to 2006. His last day at FSU is April 2.

Garnett Stokes, the provost and vice president for academic affairs, is the leading candidate for interim president.

Trustee Ed Burr, charged with leading a presidential search advisory committee, is expected to announce the members of that panel at today's meeting.
