ORLANDO, Fla; -- This year's Florida Gators basketball team is very popular with fans not just because of their numerous accomplishments on the court this season, but also because of their strong presence on social media.

Players such as Patric Young, Will Yeguete, and Chris Walker each have more the 10,000 followers on Twitter. In a day and age when some college coaches prefer that their players not spend too much time on social media, the University of Florida embraces it. The Gators players' Twitter handles are displayed in the team's media guide and on the video boards during home games at the O'Connell Center.

While Young and Yeguete tweet at least once a day, Casey Prather and Dorian Finney-Smith are rarely heard from even though they do have Twitter accounts. Chad Cushnir went into the Florida locker room to find out why some of the players embrace the idea of connecting with fans on social media and why some players choose to spend their time doing something else.
