JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The high school football season is FINALLY here!

Yes, I know it's only the preseason this week, but preseason, regular season, I don't care -- it's just high school football.

And let me be one of the first to say, I don't think there's a better place to cover or watch high school football in the country than right here on the First Coast.

What I'm looking forward to most this season is the smells of good food coming from the concession stands, the sounds of the band, the cheerleaders cheering, the roar of the crowd, the sound of pads and helmets colliding, but most of all, seeing you "ROLL THOSE HIGHLIGHTS!!!" every week.

But let me tell you why you should be fired up about being a member of the Sideline 2013 team this season more than ever before.

Sideline 2013 will be all about you: In fact, it will be the most viewer interactive show on the First Coast.

You'll be contributing to the show every Friday night because we're FIRST FOR YOU!

Our "Game of the Week" coverage is going to be bigger, better and more exciting than its ever been before.

Just be sure to tune in to Good Morning Jacksonville this Friday morning to see for yourself.

A few of the teams I'll be watching out for this season: First Coast, Trinity Christian, St. Augustine, Raines and Yulee minus Derrick Henry.

I'm so FIRED UP I'm having a hard time staying seated and typing out this story for the web.

Before I go, be sure to tune in to NBC-12 Friday night at 8 p.m. for the Sideline 2013 Kickoff Special.

Not only will we be breaking down the top teams, players and coaches but we'll be revealing some BIG TIME surprises.

Rest well my friends because the three-month marathon known as high school football is about to kickoff!

I'll see you FRIDAY NIGHT!
