JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Kendal Williams, a junior at Stanton College Prep, set two new personal records on Saturday at the Bob Hayes Invitational Track & Field Meet at Raines High School.

Williams went head to head in two races with Levonte "Kermit" Whitfield, a senior at Jones High School in Orlando. Whitfield has signed a letter of intent to play football at Florida State University where he will likely use his speed at the wide receiver position.

In the boys 100 meter dash, Whitfield won the race with a time of 10.15 seconds. Williams was a close second with a time of 10.18 seconds. His previous personal record was 10.37 seconds.

Later in the afternoon, Williams won the boys 200 meter dash with a time of 20.63 seconds. Whitfield was a close second with a time of 20.65 seconds. For Williams, it was another P.R. His previous best time in this event was 20.89 seconds.
