CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- An argument may have led an Orange Park man to jump from a moving truck early Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A Ford pickup driven by Scott Kelley of Melbourne was heading south on Blanding Boulevard near Tanglewood Lane before 3 a.m. when it all happened, troopers said.
Kelley, 21, told investigators that he and passenger Bailey Green of Orange Park were arguing as the truck made a left turn. That's when Green opened the passenger door and jumped out of the truck, Kelley said.
Kelley stopped the truck immediately. Green, 21, was taken to UF Health Jacksonville with critical injuries.
Troopers said alcohol played a role in what happened.
