PORT LUCIE, Fla. -- A huge Burmese python with an appetite for cats was captured Friday morning.
When Sergeant John Holman arrived in the 600 block of SE Faith Terrace just after 7 a.m. he found a dead cat in an empty lot on SE Faith Terrace.
Holman spotted the 12-foot, 120 pound python in waist high brushes. He then called for backup to help in removing the snake from the brush.
Holman identified a third party who currently has a license and is permitted with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to house the snake.
