BROOKSVILLE, Fla. -- A lewd lawn decoration nearly spoiled graduation at a central Florida high school and school officials say a student is to blame.
Officials at Nature Coast Technical High School say they were setting up the stage Wednesday at the school's football field when they spotted an equally enormous and obscene depiction stretched across the field, The Tampa Bay Times reported.
Using weed killer, someone had made a massive penis the centerpiece of the ceremony. The search for the culprit responsible led to a Nature Coast senior, who administrators say was barred from walking with his class at graduation.
The prank didn't sit well with Prinicipal Toni-Ann Noyes.
"I'm going to have over 2,000 people sitting in our stands, and we take great pride in our Nature Coast graduation," Noyes told the newspaper. "I was very disappointed that someone would do this and not think of the other students and the families that would have to look at this."
In a pinch, officials reportedly used green spray paint to hide the student's drawing. Meanwhile, the Hernando County School District says the student's parents will foot the bill for any permanent damages.
