ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Police are searching for two brazen car thieves who took off with a baby in the back seat... and then later dropped the infant off on the porch of a nearby home.

Investigators say the suspects stole the 2013 Toyota Highlander from a church parking lot on Sunday.

The victims were unloading tables and chairs from their vehicle at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church located at 2580 12th Avenue South around 2:15. For about five minutes they went inside the church, leaving the vehicle unlocked with the keys in the ignition and the 10-month-old baby girl secured in a car seat.

During that brief window of time, two male teens entered the Highlander and drove away. A short time later, one of the suspects is seen on surveillance video, dropping the baby off on the doorstep of a home on 11th Avenue South, unharmed and still in her car seat.

The Highlander was recovered that night, abandoned in a parking lot at 735 22nd Avenue South.

Detectives are asking for assistance in identifying the suspect seen in the video. Anyone who has information on this incident should call the non-emergency number at 727-893-7780, Text-A-Tip to 727-420-8911 or leave a confidential tip at 727-892-5000.
