JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A preschooler and a teen are in serious condition after a crash Wednesday morning on Baymeadows Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an Audi driven by Sandra Abbott, 51, was attempting to turn from Baymeadows Road onto Interstate 295 around 8:40 a.m. Abbott made a left turn towards the southbound I-295 ramp, but failed to yield to an approaching Toyota, according to FHP.

The Toyota, which was carrying three people from Jacksonville including a 4-year-old and an 18-year-old girl, slammed into the right side of the Abbott's Audi.

The drivers of both vehicles and the Abbott's passenger suffered minor injuries. The young Toyota passengers were taken to UF Health Jacksonville in serious condition. All parties involved were wearing seat belts, according to FHP.

Charges are pending, according to FHP.
