ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. -- Megan Marie Wyche, 29, died after a fatal single-vehicle crash Thursday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say Wyche, of Gainesville, was driving too fast while heading north on I-75 just north of State Road 236 around 6:45 p.m. causing her to lose control of her Saab convertible.

According to FHP, this caused her car to abruptly swerve to the right, causing the car to spin as it crossed over all the northbound travel lanes.

The car ended up on the grassy shoulder, where it flipped several times before hitting a border fence and landing on its top.

Wyche was pronounced dead by Alachua County EMS personnel at the scene of the crash.

According to witnesses, Wyche was driving recklessly, going well over 90 mph, when the crash happened.
