JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Charlie Crist riding a yellow school bus stopped on the First Coast as he is touring the state to talk about education and restoring cuts to classrooms.
The former governor says Florida cannot afford education not being a priority. Signs waved by supporters spelled out the need to restore $1.3 billion in cuts to education.
"We need to restore education cuts by Rick Scott," said Crist after he got off the bus to meet supporters.
The democratic candidate for governor last weekend opening his campaign office in Jacksonville. Until then he has concentrated most of his campaigning in Central and South Florida.
Senator John Thrasher who heads up Governor Scott's reelection bid says the governor supports education and has delivered on his promise of creating jobs.
Crist says expect to see him a lot the next couple of months on his campaign to return to Tallahassee as governor.
