TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida lawmakers are gathering at the state capitol Tuesday for the start of the legislative session.

This is the time of year when lawmakers can turn bills into law. The session will run until May 2.

Of the several issues on the table for this session, lawmakers could look into expanding gaming, increasing the speed limit and stopping minors from being able to use tanning facilities.

Gov. Rick Scott is expected to give his State of the State address in front of both chambers of the Legislature at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Scott is in the middle of a re-election bid against former Gov. Charlie Crist.
