JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Wounded Warrior Project received $25,000 from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation on Tuesday.

The monies awarded will help with services offered to injured service members and their families as well the 20 programs the Wounded Warrior Project has available.

The ceremony took place Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Firehouse Subs restaurant at 8380 Baymeadows Road.

Staff members from WWP and 15 warriors who currently benefit from WWP's Peer Support Program attended, as well as Firehouse Subs founders Chris and Robin Sorensen, Firehouse Subs partner Stephen Joost and Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation representatives.

"We are incredibly thankful for Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation's generous donation," said Len Stachitas, strategic giving executive vice president for Wounded Warrior Project. "It is through charitable gifts like this that we are able to grow our programs and promise our warriors and their families a lifetime of commitment."
