PINELLAS PARK, FL -- A mother is out on bond after police say she left her 19-month-old baby in a car while she shopped.

Vita Abramenkova faces child neglect charges. Police say late Monday afternoon she left her child in a car in the parking lot of the Target on U-S 19 in Pinellas Park.

A witness called for help after seeing the child in a locked sedan with the air conditioning circulating on low.

When police arrived on scene, the child was observed crying in the vehicle after the mother spent 40 minutes in the store. Officers say Abramenkova told them her daughter was sleeping and she didn't want to wake her up.

The ground temperature was 92 degrees during this incident and with the humidity, it was 101 degrees.
