JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- It is Friday so that means it is time for our Student of the Week! This week we are featuring Tyler Bass at Mandarin Middle School. He is an outstanding student who was nominated by one of his teachers. Not only does he keep up his grades in school, but he was also heavily involved in the project "Good on the Go" which was in One Spark.

The core of the idea of "Good on the Go" is to get young people, like middle schoolers, involved in volunteering at an early age.

"It is an organization that got kids involved in the community, ages 10 to 15 years old. We would do that by getting kids on a party bus and taking the kids to a mystery location and there they would volunteer," tells Tyler.

The assistant principal adds that Tyler is trustworthy and honest and an example for all the other students in the school.

"He did a phenomenal job, he is just so poised and well-spoken and I had at least 40 people from the public comment on what a wonderful young man he was," said Assistant Principal Angela Galyan.

Tyler says he doesn't know just yet what he wants to be when he grows up, but his teachers say whatever he chooses he will be successful! So a big congratulations to Tyler Bass for being our Student of the Week.
