JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A fight between two brothers turned violent in Springfield overnight.

The men got into a tussle inside a home in the 2000 block of N. Market Street just before 3:30 a.m.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office investigators say 53-year-old Michael Anthony Baker cut his brother in the neck.

The victim was initially taken to UF Health Jacksonville with non-life threatening injuries, but doctors discovered he had a punctured lung. Authorities say his condition has continued to decline. At last check the victim was in surgery.

Don Justice knows both brothers and said they have gotten into altercations before.

"I don't understand how folks can get to that level or allow it to get to that level. Especially brothers," he says.

Baker is facing an aggravated battery charge. Authorities say alcohol was a factor in the fight.
