ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- Cleanup from Thursday afternoon's storms continued Friday in Orange Park. The high winds and heavy rains toppled a tree in Steven Pearson's front yard.

"I looked at the window and I was like -- the tree's gone," he said.

Many people in Orange Park were dealing with the same situation Friday. Several tree removal companies lined the streets in parts of the city. Kevin Breslin is part-owner of Above and Beyond Tree Service.

"Pretty good sized job," he said.

As the rain continued, Breslin and his team worked to remove several trees. He said the wet weather makes his job even more challenging.

"It makes it more slippery, and heavier," he said.

Breslin said the rain and wind causes trees to weaken. That means if they didn't fall in this storm, they could the next time a storm passes.

"Sometimes it goes on for months after the storm," he said.

The Better Business Bureau said this is the time scammers try to make a quick dollar on those who need trees removed or other home repairs done. The BBB offers these tips:

- Don't feel pressured to make a decision on the spot

- Ask to see the business license

- Don't pay cash up front
