JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Looking nervous and wearing a purple shirt and a dark suit, Jordan Davis' best friend Leland Brunson entered Courtroom 406 shortly after 1 p.m. Friday and took the stand in first degree murder trial of Michael Dunn.

Dunn is accused of killing the 17-year old Davis in a dispute over loud music. Brunson was Davis' best friend at the time, and was with him in the back seat of the red Dodge Durango in November 2012 when Dunn fired into the vehicle, killing Davis.

Brunson was one of three teens in the car the night Davis was killed, and all three testified today. Defense attorney Cory Strolla challenged Brunson's memory, and suggested that his recollection was clouded by media reports and conversations with friends.

It was a theme that he revisited through the the day, particularly with Tommie Stornes, who admitted in court that he watched a live stream of the trial yesterday. Strolla attacked Stornes, who was on probation at the time of the shooting, for "willfully" breaking his curfew that night, and later suggested that a tribute song he wrote about Jordan Davis was motivated by his desire to profit from his death.

Strolla took a hard line questioning most witnesses, but they were mostly respectful in their answers. The only flash of anger may have been a glare that Brunson shot the defendant when he was leaving court. It was not clear if Dunn returned the look, or even whether he saw it.

Judge Russell Healey told jurors that he plans to hold court on Saturday from 9 to 5, but declined to hold it on Sunday, even though jurors said they were willing.
