ATLANTA (AP) - Christo Landry and Amy Hastings have won the men's and women's elite categories at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race.

A 28-year-old from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Landry finished the 6.2-mile course with an unofficial time of 28:25.

Hastings is a 30-year-old from East Providence, Rhode Island. She finished with an unofficial time of 32:16.

This year was only the second time in event's 45-year history that it served as the 10-kilometer USA championship for men and women. Landry and Hastings will each receive a $15,000 cash prize.

The AJC Peachtree Road Race has grown into the world's largest 10K and the largest U.S. road race of any measure. About 60,000 people participated this year, organizers said.
