BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- A man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly taking purses out of shopping carts on two separate occasions.

David Lashawn Greer, 26, is charged with two felony counts of robbery by sudden snatching and one misdemeanor count of obstruction, according to a release from Glynn County Police Department Assistant Police Chief Scott A. Trautz.

The first incident happened Sunday night at the Winn-Dixie Shopping Center at 4404 Altama Avenue in Brunswick. A man snatched a woman's purse out of her cart while she was unloading groceries, Trautz said.

The second incident happened a day later and two miles down the road in the Walmart parking lot at 150 Altama Connector. A man ran up behind a woman while she was pushing a shopping cart, took her purse and ran to a waiting vehicle.

More arrests are expected in these incidents, Trautz said. The Brunswick Police Department is also assisting in the investigation.

Anyone with any information about either of the two incidents is asked to contact Investigator Chris Lowther at 912-554-7807 or Silent Witness at 912-264-1333.
