JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The On Your Side team is working to get solutions and results for you. Here is some of the results we were able to get on Wednesday on a renters insurance issue.

Preston said he woke up to his apartment flooding because of a backed up sewer.

He said he previously signed up for renter's insurance, as the apartment management company required residents to.

"We thought this was a good idea. But now that we have put in a claim for loss, the corp. office of the management company is stone walling the insurance company by not releasing the information so that the claim can be settled," he said.

FCN gave him a few options

1) In terms of your rights, here is a link to the Florida Consumers' Notice of Rights to Residential Property Insurance.

2) Talk to the management company (in person if possible) and calmly explain the situation.

3) Ask them why they are not releasing information and tell them (even in writing if you must) that you grant them permission to release information.

4) You may want to consult a Florida home insurance lawyer.
