JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- As kids get closer to the end of the school year, they're preparing to graduate, whether it's from college, high school, or even kindergarten. Instead of the traditional pomp and circumstance, one local kindergarten class is singing its own song.

Miss Elizabeth's class at Discovery Montessori School in Jacksonville Beach came up with its own lyrics to the popular song "Let It Go" from the movie Frozen. Lines include "We'll grow from year to year", "We'll do it with our own bare hands", "Let go of the little things", and "We're going to change the world"

"I did tell them to begin with if you're going to write a graduation song, it has to be your message to adults or your message to parents so that's kind of where they took it and ran with that," says teacher Elizabeth Colavecchio.

These 10 students have been working on this song since April for their bridging ceremony.

"At the beginning there's one chair, and at the other end we have this chair, so we walk to the new school, or new classroom, and we go there," says student Bodhi Abercrombie.

"We would sit down together as a group and one child would yell out a line that they thought would be good. And we'd mesh it to fit together," says Miss Elizabeth. "To watch them collaborate and do teamwork, it's basically what we've been working on all year is teamwork, so to see it come together is pretty wonderful."
