JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Athletic Director of the Fort Caroline Athletic Association says vandals left behind thousands of dollars in damage after breaking in Saturday.

"I'm just puzzled, I don't understand how kids could do this to other kids," said Kyle Stevens.

Stevens says whoever is responsible sprayed two fire extinguishers over the inside of the board room, then stole or damaged dozens of trophies.

"These kids worked their butt off and they put a lot of time and effort into getting those trophies," he said.

Stevens has asked JSO to step up patrols in the area. Now, he's focused on getting all the damage fixed.

"Show the kids that every once in a while life throws a curve ball but you got to hit it hard and fix it," he said.
