First Coast News learned of two different animal cruelty arrests Tuesday.

A Springfield man says he came home to find his cat 'Camus' had been set on fire. The man told police when he went to feed his three cats, only 2 of them came home.

He looked around and found a bottle of lighter fluid just outside his fence and burnt grass.

The man noticed some of his things had been moved to a nearby vacant lot.

He searched the lot and found his dead cat, with burns over its entire body. He started an online cash reward fund payable to whomever gives information that leads to the arrest of the person responsible for killing his cat.

In an unrelated incident, a man is facing animal cruelty charges after police say he left a pit bull puppy inside a hot car outside the Jacksonville Best Bet Poker room.

Jamar Buckley was arrested Sunday. He returned to the vehicle just as an off-duty officer was going to break the window. The puppy was rushed to the emergency animal clinic with a core temperature of 108 degrees and was not expected to survive.
