JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A semi-truck rolled onto its side during rush hour traffic Thursday and caused major delays on J. Turner Butler Boulevard.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a man driving a tree trimming truck was headed east on JTB just before 5:30 p.m. when an unknown vehicle swerved in front of the truck. The 43 year old driver slammed on his brakes to avoid a collision which caused the truck to veer into the concrete barrier wall and roll onto its side, according to FHP.
All eastbound lanes were closed and one lane was re-opened after about an hour. Crews worked into the night, nearly four hours after the crash, to clear the scene.
The driver and a passenger in the truck suffered minor injuries and were taken to Memorial Hospital to be checked out. Both were wearing seat belts, according to FHP.
No charges are pending.
