JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- One person is recovering after a shooting on Jacksonville's northwest side.
The sheriff's office responded to the 4500 block of Moncrief Road around 1 a.m. Thursday for reports of a shooting.
Officers found one unidentified person with a gunshot wound to their lower torso. No other information about the victim has been made public.
However, the sheriff's office reported that their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
It's also unknown what led up to the gunfire or how many shots were fired.
The location of the shooting is just outside Operation Ceasefire, which JSO established in the city's northwest area to help curb ongoing violence.
