JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Two people are recovering after being shot during an attempted robbery on the Northwest side of Jacksonville on Monday evening.

The two victims told the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office they were driving near Adams Street and Prospect Street when they were flagged down by a man standing on the sidewalk. The man allegedly pulled out a gun and tried to rob them, according to JSO. The passengers did not comply and drove away. As they drove away, the suspect fired multiple times into the vehicle and struck both of the men.

One man was hit in the neck and the other victim was struck in the leg and arm.

The two drove to a home on Clyde Drive and called JSO around 7:15 p.m.

The victims were transported to UF Health with non-life threatening injuries.
