JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Investigators found a man dead on the Westside early Thursday morning.

Authorities were initially called out for a truck fire at Pugh's Auto Sales in the 5700 block of Lenox Avenue just after 1 a.m.

When the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and Jacksonville Fire Rescue arrived, they found a man outside the truck who suffered what appeared to be fatal burns, investigators say.

An electrical cord from Pugh's was connected to the truck when the fire happened. Investigators said the victim managed to escape the truck but died shortly after from his injuries. Investigators believe the electrical cord had something to do with the fire and are calling this incident a 'tragic accident'.

The State Fire Marshal is on scene investigating the cause of the incident.

Authorities aren't releasing the victim's name yet but said he has ties to the business.
