JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The next time you want to get on the Internet at a Jacksonville Jaguars home game, it should be a lot easier.

According to our news partner The Florida Times-Union, the Jacksonville City Council agreed to give $1.2 million to the Jaguars to install a new Wi-Fi service at EverBank Field.

City Council signed the deal to co-finance the $4 million technology upgrade with the Jaguars on Tuesday night.

In addition, the city is giving up its share of savings – expected to be worth about $650,000 – on other stadium upgrades being installed now, the TU reports.

EverBank has not had Wi-Fi up to now. The bill authorizing the work was approved without debate.

The team hopes to have the Wi-Fi up and running for the July 26 event that will feature the unveiling of the new video boards, a soccer match between D.C. United and Fulham F.C and a concert by Carrie Underwood.
