JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 16-year-old died when a stolen car he was driving crashed into a wooden pole Saturday in the 6000 block of Moncrief Road.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the accident happened around 5:30 a.m. The driver failed to negotiate a curve, crossed multiple lanes and hit a light pole.

Deputies report a total of five juveniles in the vehicle. The passenger is the victim who died at the scene.

The driver and three other people inside the car were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

JSO said the vehicle was reported stolen.
