Police say more acid bombs have been found in a Mandarin neighborhood First Coast News
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to the Mandarin area after multiple calls Monday evening. One caller said they heard an explosion. Another said they heard a gunshot. A third caller said they heard a bomb.
JSO says the sound they heard came from an 'acid bomb' or 'over-pressure' device.
The devices are made using acid and a two liter bottle. JSO says there have been several acid bombs found near the area where Thursday's bomb was located in the 10400 block of Old St. Augustine Road.
JSO says it does have an adolescent person of interest and will interview them. They believe all of the acid bombs are linked to the same person.
JSO bomb squad spent hours on the scene to secure the area. JSO says making these types of devices carries a 'serious charge'.
