JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A fire started in a bedroom on the second story of a home built in 1916 Thursday morning.
Jacksonville Fire and Rescue responded to a house fire in the 3800 block of Evergreen Avenue around 8:30 a.m.
One person was home at the time of the fire and was able to escape without injury, according to fire officials on scene. The blaze took about 10 minutes to put out and the State Fire Marshall is being called to investigate a cause.
The American Red Cross is on scene to help residents of the five bedroom home as needed.
The property owner on record with the City of Jacksonville is the Admiral Marketing Company.
