CALLAHAN, Fla.- A Callahan family is dealing with something they didn't expect after storms rolled through Nassau County Saturday evening.

Lesley and Wes Jones said they were home when a large, uprooted tree came crashing through their home.

Wes Jones said he was standing on the patio when he heard a big limb come down. He told FCN he heard a crash.

A large tree crushed a back bedroom of the Jones' home. Wes and his wife said another large tree fell in their backyard that destroyed their barns.

Wes said he was just a few feet away from the tree where it fell. He told FCN he was lucky to be alive.

The Jones' said the large tree didn't make a thud sound when it hit their home.

The Jones' also say they were in the process of marking and removing trees on their property when this happened.

The family credits a tree removal service and the family's insurance agent with helping to remove debris.

Wes Jones estimates the damage to his home and property to be thousands of dollars.

The Jones' say no one was hurt.
