Thursday marks one year since J.T. Townsend passed away and Wednesday, thanks to your generosity the foundation he started, you helped raise several hundred dollars to help the disabled.
Townsend, who died at the age of 26, was paralyzed a decade ago after suffering a spinal cord injury during a high school football game.
Today volunteers with his foundation manned our phone bank.
His mom says J.T. would be so honored that so many of you called to make a donation.
"We want to help the parents, the caregivers, anyone that had a disabled person we want to be able to make their life easier and be able to take that first step towards independence," Carmen Townsend said.
The foundation helps the disabled with items insurance won't cover.
