JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An arrest was made Friday morning in the death of a man who was found bleeding and unresponsive in an Arlington apartment June 2.

Stephen Bentley, 33, was arrested and booked into the booked into the Pasco County Jail Friday and is facing murder charges in the death of his roommate 59-year-old Joe Williams, according to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Chief of Investigations Adam Brown.

Williams was found at Willow Lakes apartments in the 7600 block of Jasper Avenue around 1:30 p.m. Monday, according to JSO. Williams died from 'severe trauma by a large cutting instrument' such as a machete.

A neighbor went to check on the Williams and found him unresponsive and bleeding. He died before paramedics arrived.

Foul play was suspected in his death and investigators said there was no apparent forced entry.
