JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Fire and Rescue responded to a house fire off North Main Street Monday.
East 16th Street at Market Street was closed according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office as fire crews responded to the blaze in the 300 block of 16th Street.
Crews on scene confirmed to First Coast News the fire was not started by lightning.
Officials described the home as "abandoned" and "boarded up," which took crews a while to get through in order to fight the fire. The top story of the house is mostly gone and the house is likely a total loss.
The Fire Marshal will investigate the cause of the fire.
The home owner of record is a Mr. Magid A. Elfasi, according to City Property Appraiser records.
