SOUTH DAYTONA, Fla. -- A South Daytona man is accused of shoving his pregnant girlfriend, throwing newborn kittens out a window and flinging his own blood toward police officers and paramedics.

Police arrested 41-year-old Adam Baxter Thursday night around 8 p.m. at his home on Anastasia Drive.

Witnesses heard fighting and saw Baxter allegedly fling the kittens out the window, then get into a fist fight with his male roommate out front.

The roommate said he saw Baxter shove his pregnant girlfriend, pushing her backward. She left the house, then the roommate said Baxter started coming after him.

Police arrived and took Baxter back to the station where they said he deliberately punched a bench and water fountain, cutting his thumb, then flung the blood at officers and responding medical technicians.

Officials said the kittens were not injured.
