BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. -- A 24-year-old man died in a wrong-way crash on US-301 Monday night.

Joshua Odom of Fort Myers was driving northbound in the southbound lanes just north of NE 185th Street around 11:25 p.m. in a silver Nissan Altima, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Trooper D. Komorek reported, Jerry Foust Sr., 60, was traveling southbound on US-301 in a Freightliner CasCadia. Foust noticed that Odom was driving in the wrong direction and tried to avoid from colliding into him by swerving but Odom's car ended up hitting one of Foust's axles.

Foust was able to pull over safely after the crash and had no injuries.

Odom ended up in the left lane on US-301 southbound facing northwest and died as a result of the crash.

FHP trooper reports that Odom was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of impact.
