GLEN SAINT MARY, Fla. -- Deputies responded to Baker County High School after a female student allegedly threatened to kill herself and possibly others.

Officials report that the student arrived at school around 7:15 a.m.

Deputies say the student grabbed another female student and held her at knife point .

"It's a shock for us in this community, we're small, a close-knit community and things like this don't normally happen," said Lt. Brad Dougherty with the Baker County Sheriff's Office.

Dougherty says the-17-year-old suspect is being evaluated and could face criminal charges. He says the school has the typical fights, but nothing has escalated to this point.

"We're big on safety of the students and we're doing to make sure nothing like this can occur again," he said.

Lt. Dougherty says his office, and the school board are investigating the incident. There's no word on what, if any, security changes will occur.
