JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A pedestrian was hit by two cars early Thursday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP says Adriatik Novaku, 45, was in the middle of the southbound travel lanes of Phillips Highway when he was hit first by a red Ford Mustang. The impact knocked him into a second lane where he was run over.

Novaku was transported to UF Health Jacksonville with life-threatening injuries. There were no injuries reported with any one in the cars.
